Your HOA
By purchasing a home here, you become a member of the Owl Lake Estates Homeowners Association. This is the association that maintains the common areas and provides covenant control in your neighborhood.
HOA Fees
HOA fees are paid in response to a statement you’ll receive from the HOA every quarter. Payments are due within one month they are billed; late if not received by the 15th of the month. Checks should be made payable to the Owl Lakes Estates HOA and mailed to PO BOX 777, Firestone, Colorado 80520. Questions, contact the Treasurer.
Websites
At the closing on your home you will have received copies of the Association’s Declaration of Covenants, By-laws, and Articles of Incorporation. Please read them to familiarize your self with the information they contain. Other documents including maps, policies, financial reports, minutes, newsletters and submittal forms are available on the legal page.
HOA Meetings
The HOA’s annual meeting is held each year in late January or early February. Look for the annual meeting announcement in the newsletter.
Newsletters
Newsletters that discuss current topics of interest in the community are published three to four times each year and are also available at in the newsletter section.
Architectural Control Committee
All improvements or changes to the exterior of your home MUST be submitted for the approval of the HOA’s Architectural Control Committee before you begin. A form to make submittals is available on the ACC page. Once completed the form may be delivered to any ACC member. The ACC has 30 days to review, approve or disapprove your application.
Common Area Maintenance
The HOA contracts with local companies to maintain the common area landscaping in the summer. The HOA’s common areas include the native and partially landscaped area around the lake and a strip of property near the access road to the lake on the east side of the neighborhood. The streets in the community are maintained by the Town of Firestone.
Trash Service
The HOA does not provide trash service. Each individual homeowner is responsible for their own trash pickup. A majority of the homeowners use Waste Connections. Trash is usually picked up each Friday and recyclables on alternate Fridays. Contact Waste Connections or OneWay trash if interested.

Animal Control

Domestic/City Water
Domestic water is provided by the Town of Firestone.
Irrigation Water
When available, irrigation water is supplied to the common areas and private homes by a distribution system operated by the HOA. Untreated water is delivered to an onsite lake by a series of ditches and is pumped from the lake by pumps and is delivered to the common areas and private homes through a piping system around the neighborhood. Refer to the Water section for more information.

Gas Service
Gas service is provided by Black Hills Energy through a meter at each home. To set up service or resolve problems, contact Black Hills Energy at 800.563.0012.
Electric Service
Electric service is provided by United Power through a meter at each home. To set up service or resolve problems, contact United Power at 303-659-0551.
Telephone Service
Contact CenturyLink to set up land-line service.
TV Services
Unfortunately, cable TV is not available in our neighborhood. Other options for paid TV services are Dish Network and DirectTV.
